Are You Connected?
People-to-people connections are an important part of the networking that goes on when manufacturing professionals get together at IMTS 2008. This happens naturally at an event as diverse and as friendly as IMTS. A tougher struggle is getting diverse machine tools, manufacturing equipment and computer systems to share information and expand the possibilities for automatic, integrated operation. The Emerging Technology Center at IMTS 2008 will showcase a significant breakthrough in manufacturing connectivity and interoperability. It’s called MTConnect, a new communications protocol standard for passing data between devices, equipment and higher applications.
