Top Honda and GM Mfg. Execs to Speak at Ward's Automotive Day

Hear two top manufacturing executives from Honda and General Motors talk about the technology and tooling strategies that are transforming today's and tomorrow's engine and assembly plants.

11:00 am Presentation

The 11:00 a.m. session will feature Kenneth D. Knight, Executive Director, Manufacturing Engineering Controls, Conveyors, Robotics and Welding at General Motors Corp.

Knight will talk about how GM is applying virtual technology in the manufacturing environment, as well as discuss how GM is applying its learnings on a global scale.

2:00 pm Presentation

The 2:00 p.m. session on Sept. 8 will feature Charles Ernst, Senior Vice President and Plant Manager for Honda Manufacturing of Alabama, LLC. Ernst is responsible for daily operations of the entire Lincoln facility, including automobile and engine production.

Located in Lincoln, AL, Honda's $1.4 billion vehicle and engine operation employs 4,500 associates and currently produces 300,000 vehicles and engines annually.
